Nina Stanley

Program Chair, Digital Graphics and Multimedia Design( Latham , NY Campus)
M.A. in Fine Arts, California State University Fullerton

Nina Stanley is a figurative painter living and working in the Capital Region. She is one of the founding members of the Upstate Artists Guild and is the Division Chair of Digital Graphics and Multimedia Design for the new multimedia program at Mildred Elley.Nina has spent 16 years in the video game industry and worked for Electronic Arts, Capcom, the 3DO Company, Novalogic, Vicarious Visions, and most recently 1st Playable in Troy. Her roles included Lead Artist, Senior Artist, and Art Director, and Nina also worked for the "Playworks" department at 3DO which was responsible for all concept art and promotional art for magazines. Nina earned her BFA and MA in Drawing and Painting from California State University Fullerton, and also runs the UAG's figure drawing groups. For more information please visit www.kitschpainter.org.

Benjamin Barnard

Program Chair, Game Design and 3D Animation ( Latham , NY Campus)
B.A. in Computer Art, College at Oneonta—SUNY

Ben has been teaching at Mildred Elley’s Latham , NY Campus since 2005 as a Program Chair in Game Design and 3D Animation, overseeing the Digital Media Arts Summer 2005 Youth Camp, and as an Instructor in the Division of Information Technology. He specialized in Computerized Animation with Maya during his undergraduate studies. Since his graduation, he has taught computerized modeling and animation at SUNY Oneonta; coordinated internships and worked as a concept/sprite artist at Atmatek LLC, a game design company; and created 3D game assets, concept art, and game level designs for BTU Games. He holds memberships in the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) and Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques (ACM SIGGRAPH), and is an active participant in the IGDA’s Albany, NY Chapter.

Ben specializes in computer game art, 3D animation with Maya and digital image manipulation.

Michael Andrews

Instructor, Division of Digital Media Arts (Pittsfield, MA Campus)
A.A.S. in Commercial Art/Computerized Graphic Applications, Sullivan County Community College—State University of New York; B.A. in Graphic Communications, Point Loma Nazarene University

Michael Andrews has been teaching for Mildred Elley since early 2005. Michael specializes in digital image acquisition and manipulation, digital publishing, and digital illustration. His experience in the field as a graphic designer, art director, and digital video producer spans more than twenty years. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

 

Nicole O'Neil

Instructor, Division of Digital Media Arts ( Pittsfield , MA Campus)
A.A.S. in Graphic Design, Sage College; B.A. in Electronic Media, Arts, and Communications, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Nicole has been teaching at Mildred Elley’s Pittsfield Campus since 2005; she has also participated in the curriculum development process at the Latham Campus. Nicole is an accomplished freelance graphic designer and the principal partner of Magdalenean Design, with many local, national, and international clients. She is actively involved with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and has won a number of awards for her innovative work.

Nicole specializes in digital graphic design, including digital image acquisition and manipulation, publishing, and illustration.

 

Vlad Dolgopolov

Associate Dean for Institutional Research and Planning ( Latham , NY and Pittsfield , MA Campus)
B.S. in Business Economics & Finance and Psychology, University of Indianapolis ; M.A. in Economics, Clark University ; Ph.D. in Economics (Public Finance), Clark University

Vlad’s task is to provide support and guidance for development of new programs. He actively works with the Digital Media Arts faculty at both campuses to support program growth. Prior to joining Mildred Elley, Vlad has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Lesley University , Clark University , Fitchburg State College, Assumption College , and the University of Indianapolis Athens . Vlad is a member of several professional associations and has a strong scholarly publication record. His community involvement includes involvement with the Institute for Economic Policy Studies at Clark University as a Trustee and an officer of the Board.

BIO: "I started in the game industry at what some would call a “late stage in life”. Then again this is considered a very young industry and anyone over the age of 25 is old! My opportunities quickly made up for this late start and now my produced game library has almost reached 20! Not bad for an Ex-FPS Junkie. What is my secret you ask? I keep switching desks at work."

BIO– "I am from the city where Roger and Me was filmed. I went to college for animation in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been an animator for Vicarious Visions for two years now. Before that I used to fold clothes for a living somewhere in Crossgates mall. I am a huge fan of sports especially basketball. I mean I still have my first pair of Shaq shoes, if that’s not a die hard fan than I don’t know what is."

BIO: Rob began his life in the games industry at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh where he majored in computer animation. From there he went on to work on his first title at Vicarious Visions with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 GBA as an artist. 6 and a half years later he has had more then 19 titles and fulfilled many roles from designer to lead animator. He just recently finished up work on Spider Man 3 for the PS2 and Wii.

BIO: Erin Hoffman is a game designer with 1st Playable Productions and a freelance game journalist and fiction writer. She loves old Genesis games, reading, animals of many types, and strange ideas. Favorite games include Ecco the Dolphin, Pirates! Gold, Age of Empires II, and Shadow of the Colossus.
